Having looked at both myself. 
Would have long term concerns
with the  iMac. In particular the gimbel mount for the screen.
There has to be many wires in that connector and it would take just one
tiny wire to break
and game over...

The eMac is heavy however it is the traditional iMac idea, just bigger
and as noted heavier. 

Then too both have the newer  OS X and variants...

Macintosh I suspect is changing operating system versions faster than
Windows ever  did.

Changing OS's frequently can lead to confusion in the long  run INO,

Then too purchasing  anything first year out may be asking for problems.

Best wait to see what glitches appear...
