Hi,
What I have is a lime iMac 333MHz, with RAM upgraded to 96MB, and has a 6GB
harddisk. Do you suppose having 2 partitions on the HD has anything to do
with the problem? The other partition doesn't have anything on it.
So far, this is what I've tried:
~ zapped the P-RAM
~ reset nvram, reset all
~ updated the hard disk driver
~ used Disk First Aid to check HD (says HD is OK)
~ reformatted the hard drive
~ reinstalled System software (system folder is blessed)
~ swapped the HD with another (which also has 2 partitions)
~ pressed the reset switch on the motherboard
~ used paper clip to depress the 2 switches through the
pinholes next to USB ports, with the iMac off, not sure
if that helps anything
~ selected HD as Start-up disk
~ checked battery (clock is showing the right time)
~ ripped out a bunch of my own hair! aaarrrrr! Just
kidding... I know this is not a standard procedure,
but just thought I'd mention it :-)
~ cried (and still crying) for HELLLPPP!
:-(
