About 4 inches. My problem was the CD tray bumping into my keyboard (I
have my keyboard propped up higher than designed -- I'm still used to the
angle of my old one).

I have a boxy metal monitor stand with a keyboard drawer underneath, for
about $15. Seems a bit expensive, but it's more than sturdy enough for
this 50-pound machine. It doesn't tilt, but I don't need it to. The eMac
doesn't have rubber feet, so it turns quite easily, though.
