Hello Brian I have a Rev.A. BoniBlu with 256 upper & lower. It works great EXCEPT it only recognizes 128 of the lower RAM (therfore, I only have 384mb RAM). This problem is known throughout this list: i.e. some iMacs see all the RAM, others see only parts of the total RAM, then the rest that don't recognize the RAM at all!?!?! So, you could either have a bad stick of memory, or you have one of the iMacs that can't see. Your mileage may vary. If this was me, I'd send the RAM back for a new stick, just to be sure. I hope this helps -- J. R. Rosen<<< --------------------- I don't recall if the Rev A-D models have a hard upper RAM limit, but I would suggest the following after installing RAM: 1) update firmware for your model of iMac (probably do this before installing the extra RAM), 2) reset PRAM. Also, here is an excert from a discussion on the Apple iMac Upgrade discussion list: "Problem solved. Thanks for all your help. MicroWarehouse now wanted 99.86 ($158.53) for one 256MB Kingston module (wow!), which I thought was a little bit overpriced, so I just asked for my money back and ordered from Crucial after all, where the right RAM only costs 52.86 ($83.92)(6.00 more than 2 days ago). They arrived today and I think you were right, Strider. The first ones (really the second ones from MacWarehouse) had 4 black plastic bits each side (8 in total) and the ones from Crucial have 8 each side (16 in total). I've installed them this evening and they are working fine. Finally 512MB. My friend is chuffed. Thank you all again for your advice and help." What this says is that there are limits on the density of the RAM modules. That is, the amount of RAM per chip can be too high for the Mac to recognize. I don't know if this is the case with yours or not? If your RAM modules are of this "4 chips per side", then I would suspect that they truly are not spec'ed for the iMac. You should return them and specifically ask for the "8 chips per side" variety. Upon further reading of the discussion thread, it appears that the Rev A-D models may have a 512MB upper limit.
