Hi everyone, I recently purchased an iMac 333 Mhz for my wife and it has the following OS installed: OS 10.1.5 and OS 9.2.2. It works very well with either version of the OS so she keeps using OS X. The reason why I am writing is that the CDROM can be noisy at times however I found on the Apple site that there is a firmware update that addresses this problem (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60458).
- How can I check if this update has been installed ? - The document also says that it will only work with MAC OS 8.1, 8.5.x and 8.6. Is it because this update is really an OS update and not a firmware update ? - If it is really a firmware update, how can I install it since she only has 9.2.2 and 10.1.5 ?
