Hello iMac'rs

I have a Rev.A (384 Ram/PowerLogix G3/400/40gb hdd)

I installed X.2.2 yesterday, and it's slow as molasses (sp?).

I had X.1.5 previously, and it was tremendous! Much faster than 9.2.2. Even using
9.2.2 in Classic was faster than the "stock 9.2.2".

Am I doing something wrong, or is the snails-pace due to QuartzExtreme?

I'd like to go back to X.1.5, but I really want some of the features in X.2.2.

Also, will the same thing happen if I install this in my iBook G3/500/256ram (dual USB
2001)?

I know this post is kind of stupid ("If it's not running well, go back to X.1.5"), but
with so many brilliant people on this list, I thought someone might have a tip or two
to speed up X.2.2.

Thanks in advance - I look forward to your suggestions/comments.
