"I'm trying to install Mozilla 1.2.1 in my iMac (MacOS 8.6) but I always get the same message: "Installation failed due to error: -229". "Can anyone give me a piece of advice please?"
If you are interested in finding a list of Mac OS Errors then go to: http://www.usc.edu/isd/doc/os/mac/consult/oserrors.html for more info. You will find that error -229 is listed as a "Sound Manager Error." ("siBadRefNum" -Invalid Reference Number) I'm sure there are some very brilliant people on this who can give you more exact information regarding your installation error. I've been using Mozilla since 1.0 was first released along with OS 9.1. I have never had a any major problems with it at all. I just downloaded 1.0.1 last week (I'm too much of a chicken to download anything that has known bugs without any of the current fixes). I could be wrong, but I seem to recall there being "more stable" versions than 1.2.1 that Mozilla recommends for new users with your OS.
