hello all I work for a school division and although osx is the flavour of the month and the future of apple, it is by no means going to cause everyone who owns a mac to switch. We currently have os version 8.1 to jaquar running on our macs. The os 8.1s serve their purpose as do the other versions of os we have. I think imacs originally came with os8.5 and are now coming with 9.2.2 and jaquar. we are using all generations of imacs and have upgraded os as need for stability. We have yet to switch over to osx for fear of the learning curve required by our staff and students to use it. We also are on a limited budget for technology and wish to maximize our buying power. We are hoping apple does not stick to their plan to make imacs osx only by june of this year. Once they make the switch it will force our hand to make changes to our current infrastructure that might prevent us from buying as many imacs as we wish to.
