Well, being interested in music piracy kind of *is* a dark side ;), but 
as mentioned in another response, there is software to access gnutella, 
which is an Internet protocol for ptp (peer- to- peer) file sharing. In 
other words, it doesn't "belong" to windoze. There's software on Mac, 
windoze, Linux, etc. to access the network with anyone else, regardless 
of their platform.

Try versiontracker.com (under Mac OS) and look for "gnutella". You'll 
find a few clients, no doubt.

As far as going to the dark side, just wait 'til your daughter tries to 
play, locate, or send an MP3 or burn a CD on a win- tel machine- then 
you'll really appreciate your Mac.
