Well, it doesn't hurt to look at the files in a text editor and see 
if they have the info that's wanted, or are garbage.

If they have the info, the next question is the format they need to 
be manipulated into for importing.  (I use a combination of Alpha, 
Word 5.1, and Excel to manipulate text, but I'm weird.)  I don't use 
OS X so I can't help there.
