Chas, this mouse is listed as a Windows mouse. Can you use it with a Mac as well? Is it just a plug 'n play?
Thanks to the wonders of Live Warehouse and the USPS Priority Mail system, I can tell you that the answer is AFFIRMATIVE. I can't believe they shipped this thing from CA to FL in less than 48 hours!
Anyway, its a wireless Logitech two* button mouse (the scroll wheel can optionally be used as a button as well). It's not optical, but it is wireless. In Mac OS X (10.2.6), it requires NO drivers at all (though there are some available -- I think that's for if you want to "program" the right and mouse buttons) -- right-click works as control-click, scrollwheel works as expected. Needs two AAA batteries that were not, despite the add described above, included. (I'll sue! :)
It comes with an utterly useless (to us Mac users) USB->PS2 adapter as well (so you're right, it is designed as a WinMouse), but works perfectly in OS X and 9.2.x. Totally plug-n-play. A great deal for $9.99 plus $5 shipping.
Other than when I've used Win machines, I've never actually had a two-button mouse on one of my Macs before! It's kind of fun, I must admit, though the main attraction for me was and is the scrollwheel.

"With the introduction of the new iTunes Music Store, we've now built the first real complete ecosystem for the digital music age. We've got a way to buy music online legally that's fantastic -- it's better than any other way to acquire music. We've got a way manage music with the iTunes Jukebox, which is the best in the world. And we've got a way to listen to music on the go with the iPod, which is the most popular MP3 player in the world and one of the coolest things in the world. So we've really got, from one end to another, a complete solution for digital music. We're the only people in the world to do this, so we feel great about it." -- Steve Jobs, Time Magazine, 30-April-03
