Re: my iMac G3, 300Meg, DVD slotloader, OS 9.2.2, 512 Ram, 60 Gig HD - I have Disk Warrior 3.0 and Tech Tool Pro 3.0.6, both of which suggest installing their programs for optimal performance. I haven't done this yet, instead working off the disk on an as-needed basis.
When I used other utilities (Norton Utilities, Conflict Catcher, Rewind) I found that my HD was tripping all over itself on start ups and what have you from what I believed to be the clutter these utilities caused after being installed. Life was a good deal smoother after i trashed them. But I'm wondering if my previous experience was because I was running OS 9.0 all the way up to OS 9.1.4 at the time. Perhaps the current OS 9.2.2 wIll be able to tolerate, maybe even "accept" these programs without crashing. I would appreciate the benefit of anyone else's experience before deciding which way to go re: Disk Warrior and Tech Tool Pro.
