No, only newer Macs can take advantage of the Airport Extreme cards. If you really need "Extreme" wireless speed on your older iMac, you can get an external wireless to Ethernet adapter. Some of them (the more expensive ones, naturally) support the 54Mbps speed of Airport Extreme, and requiring no drivers they are all Mac compatible.
