Did you burn them as AIFF files, because that's the format CD-players use, don't use the MP3 format. Also if you burned them as AIFF try lowering the burn speed to 4x or 2x speed, some older CD players have problems with reading burned CD-Rs at higher speeds, but there are also (older) CD players which cannot read burned CD-Rs at all...
