My wife is getting an iSight free from work. Is this worth setting up and using?
What the ... WHAT?
No offense, but this has to be the dumbest question I've ever seen here. You'll see for yourself when you have one, but I find it a bit difficult to believe you've not encountered some "testimony" from iSight users before now.
DUH, a free iSight is worth setting up and using. Hell, it's LIFE-CHANGING.
My friend Phil gets teary-eyed when he talks about how he uses an iSight camera to see and talk to his newborn grandson (who lives in Moscow) and stays close to his daughter and her husband.
Another client uses her iSight to extensively to communicate to her family -- carpal tunnel syndrome has robbed her of the ability to type much anymore, but since iChatAV came along she says she no longer misses it. She was getting ready to buy her best friend (she's in California, we're in FL) a complete iMac and iSight setup JUST so she could videoconference with her ... until I told her about the iChatAV beta (now FINAL as of today!) that works with anyone using AIM 5.5 (PC) and a videocamera ...
I had one at my last job, and it made my life a BREEZE (even when I was using the microphone part only!) to communicate with far-flung business colleagues.
