And finally (sorry to deluge the list with all these posts...): one other fabulous thing about the 20" screen on this new iMac is that the viewing angle is truly stunning. Basically you can walk around the screen and you get true colours from just about any direction. Much better than on the 17" FP.

Oh, it also makes quite a difference as to overall performance if you set the Energy Saving option to 'Highest' rather than 'Automatic'. And so far it is not triggering off the fans (just doing email/browsing/word processing). In the benchmarking test, the CPU scored 90 on 'Automatic' and 162.29 on 'Highest'. When launching Word, on 'Automatic' it takes two dock bounces (just like on the G4 iMac), but only one bounce on 'Highest', and just about everything else is faster.

So it was definitely a question of changing from the default 'Automatic' to the more daring 'Highest'.

Now things feel very zippy inded!

Now I'll shut up and leave you lot in peace.

Regards,

Walter
