OtherWorld Computing (http://eshop.macsales.com) has the Pioneer
DVR-106/107/108 drives for sale if anyone is looking. Sign up on
their email newsletter and you'll find they include links to special
extra-discount readership-only pricing.

I would think the drives would work in an external FW enclosure (but I
don't have one to test it out). If worse comes to worse, just grab
Patchburn (http://www.patchburn.de). Pretty much let's you utilize
any CD/DVD burner in OS X.
