OK.
The rude people on this list, in the past, have all been adults.
I am 50+ and not overly stupid, but my questions have sometimes been treated with contempt and sarcasm by a few adults on the list, usually by those who just "can't stand" another questions about (fill in the blank), as though everyone should already know what they already know.
Actually, it got better for quite awhile. Even the really "smart" people, when spoken to in plain English actually came to grasp the concept of sharing their knowledge rather than using it to intimidate other list members.
What we have now is just some more "smart" folks letting us know that they are always perfect when they communicate on a list like this, that they always quote just the perfect amount from previous messages, and most of all, of course, that they are way way way too important to "put up" with the meanderings of a 10 year old.
It is all a bit sad, but EVERY list goes through these kinds of cycles. The most vicious list I was ever a part of consisted mostly of psychiatrists who claimed to be interested in protecting patients' rights. Now those people were truly vindictive ego-driven assholes. The perfect and very important adults on this list will never attain the level of wackiness attained by those shrinks (try though they might).
Anyway, it and everything else will pass, so I personally invite all 10 year olds who are interested in I(and E)Macs to join the list so that you can teach the rest of us something about acceptance, tolerance, honor, decency, intelligence, curiosity, logic, reason, and, of course, computing.
