Fix that. Get more memory. You're crippling yourself.

Not really. The iMac isn't my main workhorse any more (there's a healthy 768MB in my iBook) and I use it mostly for writing, and recording/listening to radio programmes. Right now, with the usual apps open - BBEdit Lite, iTunes and Coaster - and VM set to 97MB, I have about 49MB free.

Anyway, I plan to retire it altogether when I can afford a new desktop. The screen is getting dimmer with age, and I don't expect to get more than about another year's useful life out of it.

Carpe DIMM!
