I noticed in my /Library directory that there is a directory called Tomcat, I don't recall installing anything with this name, so I come to you the imac list, asking what this is, and if i need it?
I believe that Tomcat is an Application Server. It is used in institutional environments to all users to launch an application but only if a predefined limit of users hasn't been exceeded. In other words if you by a license for 50 users and you are user 51 you can't use it until someone else quits it.
