Just got outboard CD-RW Firewire from Buslink....it is fast! Which blank media brand is your favorite and are there any to avoid?
I've had the best luck with the generics from Fry's (outpost.com).
I've had the worst luck with Memorex, TDK, and the generics from CompUSA.
Best vs Worst is a narrow margin tho. Worst = more coasters per spindle. Best = fewer coasters and longer life results.
Coaster count aside, the key, IMO, is how readable the disc is 6 months, a year, or two years later. I've been burning CDs since 2002. About 10% of the CDs now fail to read without errors. IOW, burn important data several times. Make sure your backups have backups.
