Hello Listers, Recently I have started having a problem when I want to print a Word98 or Excel file (I have MS Office for MAC installed). When I give the 'print' command the iMac searches for a very long time to find the Epson Monitor 3. Eventually the OS does find it. However this does not happen when I try to print other things such as Appleworks WP documents or Draw docs or Painting docs or spreadsheets or even thing off the internet for all of which the Epson Monitor 3 comes up almost immediately.
I have also noticed that if the Epson Monitor 3 is active and I try to print a MS Word doc there's no problem. I'm using an Epson Stylus Color 440 printer and OS 8.6 on an iMac Rev A. Haven't added any programs or made any notable changes to the system either. Printer is still working fine. It doesn't get a lot of heavy use, just occasional. This is more annoying than anything else. I can open an Appleworks WP doc and give the print command then click cancel on the print diologue box and afterwards make my MS Word98 doc active and give the print command and I'm off and running, but that's not how it's really supposed to work. Any suggestions as to how to overcome this situation? Does it have anything to do with the launcher?
