I've been in computer hell for several hours now, and I'm sending this
message in hopes that some good person here can help.

Today while trying to hotsync Entourage to my new PDA I decided after great
frustration (my calendar and contacts files were hosed) that I should
really finally drop Entourage altogether and convert to Mail. (And I had
used Missing Sync, which didn't help either). Syncing Entourage is always
dicey, and you can't use Spotlight with it anyway, which takes much of S's
utility away for me.

BUT in trying to delete my old Mail messages (imported long ago) Mail just
up and died on me. Now, I can open it for a few seconds, long enough to see
it, and then it quits. I've never had a Mac OS application fail like that.
Is it corrupted? I've tried to replace Mail alone using Pacifist, but that
doesn't work either. I would like to avoid a complete reinstall of Tiger.

Help! I'm using a flat panel imac running OS 10.4.2.

Also, I'd like to hear from anyone who successfully dropped Entourage. Is
it worth it?

Thank you excessively.

Cathy
