I don't see why not. As far as I know the chassis is virtually identical. In
fact if you can find a 2002 or later iMac you can probably get a DVD burner,
albeit a slow one.

On a side note, you can buy a brand new external Firewire Double Layer
DVD+-RW 16X drive for around $100. That would be much better than any old
slot load CD or DVD drive you find.
