Can I connect my hi-fi turntable to my G4 iMac and record the records easily? What software might I need? Thanks!

Kev

I don't know about the turntable going directly to the iMac, but a conventional stereo receiver will certainly work. I've been converting a lot of my old cassettes to CD this way, using a program called Sound Studio, which came bundled with my G4 iMac back in September 03. From Sound Studio I put the resulting files into my iTunes library where I convert them to less space-hogging formats.

The biggest drawback is the real-time recording, but on the plus side, Sound Studio lets you edit out the pops and clicks, etc. As many other softwares would, too, but this one was free!

Hope this helps,

Brian
