I have an old B&W G3 case that I would like to set up, if possible, to
use as a housing for some "extra" drives - one or two HD's, a CD-rom
(or burner) and a zip. I would like to be able to connect these to my
G4.
How can this be done? Ideas? Aside from a very inelegant "box" with a
long SCSI ribbon and IDE ribbon sticking out of it?
The motherboard in the G3 is bad - I think the IDE bus is bad,
actually. Seems to be frying Hd's. So if I can, i want to us the G3
just for its power supply and as a housing case for drives.
Is there a way to, say hook up two SCSI drives and one or two IDE Hd's
and have them all connect to the G4 via USB or Firewire?
Obviously, I am no techie.
Ideas? Email me direct as well as copying to the list. I read direct
emails daily, the list only periodically.
Thanks,
Doug in Ohio
