Sir- Thanks for your reply. I know less about networking than about any other aspect of everyday pc use so I really apprec,your help! I manually printed out the printer config. 1.) On the "HP Laserjet 4300 Configuration Page," in the Printer Information category there is no IP number as such. Here is what I have: the printer serial #, Formatter 3, Service ID and Firmware datacode 2.) In Installed Personalities and Options there is: a PS number (Postscipt?), aPCLXL #, and a PCL #.
To answer your other quesions,I never registered the printer with HP. 1.) When you say registered do you mean as in sign up...e.g.give HP my name, address etc. or from a technical point of view? 2,) How would I be able to tell if it's on the network?
