I would like to buy the fastest 24-inch iMac made with a matte display. My understanding is that this is the late-2006 White iMac with the optional upgrades to a 2.33 GHz T7600 Core 2 Duo and a GeForce 7600-GT video card. I don't think any of the AL or later iMacs had matte displays as an option. If I’m mistaken about this, I would appreciate being informed.
Any comments or warnings about this model would also be welcome. Any experiences with taking the RAM to 4 GB instead of the specified 3 GB max would be particularly interesting. I followed the everymac.com link on this subject to here http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/faq_cd/imac-intel-how-to-upgrade-memory.html but it didn't provide enough detail. I’ll be putting a WTB post on lemswap soon (purchase time frame is early April) but I won't object if a potential seller emails me directly about one that meets the above criteria.
