Hi Peter, It could be the OS. That model can run OS 9.2.2 and 10.3 (Panther) pretty well as it is, as long as you don't expect it to break any Guinness Book records. I had one just like it which was mainly used as an iTunes and Internet radio jukebox in my bedroom with a USB wifi adapter. Hope it helps!
