Well my ancient iMac may have finally bit the dust. I had put it away for a couple of weeks, and when I tried to plug in the power cable, it made several clicking noises then stopped. Since then it's been completely dead, no startup chime, no more clicking noises, nothing. It seems to me the most likely culprit is the power supply. Is this a sound diagnosis?

Given the cost of iMac power supplies on eBay, it's probably not worth the cost of resurrecting it. If that is indeed the problem, I'll probably salvage the hard drive (2TB) and trash or donate the rest.

Thanks,

Eric
