Would it be enough to know the total area and divide by the number of radial
"petals"?

It is is easy to remove the outer edge of gray background using the magic wand
tool set to 8 Legacy followed by a few clicks, typing the letter x for each
selection with the background set to black.

Then the total area could be measured in one shot.

You wouldn’t have statistics for range of areas or other shape info, but you
would know the average area.

Another way to estimate each area could be to draw a circle path midway, load a
plot profile into an array, and measure the distances between the minima to
estimate areas.

Subject: Measuring Area of the ROI

[EXTERNAL]

Dear all,

I want to measure the area of the flower-like patterns as shown in the image. I
can do it manually, but I have more than 50 images. Do you have any suggestions
for doing it automatically?

Thanks for your help,
Anu
