Dear Herbie,
The nasal septum linear orientation does vary a little from slice to
slice but I think not too much. The septum vertical height (it is
effectively a vertical sheet) is about 80 slices high or 2 cms with 0.25
mm per voxel.
Thanks for your help.

Dear Douglas,
thanks for the original and for the annotated image!
I'll try to find a solution and I assume that for all images of interest
the septum is about at the same position with respect to the image frame.
Stay tuned
Herbie

Greetings Herbie,
Good to hear from you.
Apologies for not annotating the anatomy! The nasal septum is now marked
with a yellow line and I have attached a TIF file.
Best wishes.

Greetings Douglas,
don't expect that those with expertise in image processing are also
experts in anatomy!
Please provide an annotated image that shows the (hand-drawn) line in
question and explain which kind of segmentation you are after.
Last but not least, instead of the provided screen-shot, please provide
the original 16-bit image in its lossless file format.
Regards
Herbie

Good morning,
Can anybody please suggest a method using ImageJ macros to segment the nasal
septum to form a line whose orientation can be used to rotate the axial slice
so that the septum is at 90 degrees to the top image line 0?
The attached axial CT slice of the face has a clockwise rotation of about 4
degrees. I know how rotate the image counter clockwise to correct this but
cannot figure out how to extract a line for the septum.
Thank you for your help.
