Greetings Patricia,

Besides the image formats the ImageJ specifically reads in, ImageJ calls a
Java library routine to try and read in an image file. DIB is supposedly a
sort of a BMP file format and might be read in as that.

There is at least one blog post suggesting success reading in a DIB using
Bio-Formats plugin.

Outside of ImageJ, imagemagick claims to be able to read in DIB format
files, and thus can convert into anything ImageJ can read.

Enjoy,

Fred
