Refreshing that left frame after every click on the message list was deemed
to be unneccessary overhead, on both the server and the client. The lesser
of the two evils was to allow the unread msg count to stay the same until
the left frame refreshed. If you want to incur this overhead and add the
feature, you'll find this function in the JavaScript at the top of the
readmail.html file:
function refreshLeftFrame(){
// this refreshes the unread msg count
//if (top!=self) parent.leftFrame.document.location.reload();
}
Remove the two slashes from the line beginning with "if" to uncomment and
re-activate that feature.

That's an undocumented "feature" of IMail that we're just testing. So far,
it's only tested with external databases, and primary domains, and we're
really not prepared to recommend that people do it. It's a bit too
complicated to go into on-list like this... basically, you have to create a
dummy virtual domain with the other templates, and point its external db
config to the same datasource and table, and then use custom JavaScript on
the login page. If you're just dying for the feature, send me an email
off-list, and perhaps we can do it on a consulting basis.

chgsign.html. (For future reference, to determine what file does what, just
right-click on the frame or webpage in question, choose View Source, and
look at the filename just under the <title> tag, in html comments.)

Now you're asking too much. :) Seriously, if you don't know how to add
another table cell button like the others and point it at a web page, you
shouldn't be touching anything besides the config files. And if you do make
mods, all I can say is make ONE at a time, and test on all platforms after
each one. We can't support you if you've modified the code.
