checked that already also. it works fine using a email client like outlook
express so there must be something else wrong.. just going to have to check
it click by click. thanks for the help so far though.

That still sounds like a path issue. See:

Make SURE you don't have any trailing slashes after any of your path
settings in IMail's admin control panel.
