Im not sure why you have the asp sript go and execute another perl script.
The way I have it is with a backend SQL server as the DB for imail. So once
the user signs up, the asp script takes the entry and see if it already
exists in the DB, if it does, it will tell the user that the account name is
taken, if not it will proceed.
if you want coding examples in asp let me know

Subject: [imail] ezsignup off of remote iis server
I have the HKSI ezsignup utility working off of a remote iis instalation.
Basically how this works is, the asp page instead of executing the
adduser.exe to create the user, sends an email to a "program alias" at the
imail server. This program alias is mapped to a perl script that parses the
email and creates the user and the ldap information. The perl script is
smart enough to only create the user if the user does not already exist, but
my only problem with this setup is that the asp page has no way of knowing
if the user already exists. One solution I have is also dumping the
username into a SQL database and having the asp page first run a query
against the database to see if the user exists before sending off the email
to the imail server. Right now the information is being created into the
SQL database just fine, but runing a query against the database and getting
a result returned and acting on that result, I have not been able to do.
Any ideas or examples?
