A little history if you will indulge. Since upgrading to IMail 7.03
attachments in the WM interface have been coming across as garbage. With the
help of Ron and Carry at IPSwitch I was able to trace it back to my proxy
server (we are a public school district and need to filter). Since doing
that I have been able to fix half of my problems. That means that I can tell
my Windows users to set their IE proxy settings to bypass our Proxy when
going to mail.mydomain.com. This works on all Windows clients tested,
attachments are great again.
The problem lies with my Mac users. I know I hear you laughing. When running
IE 5 on a Mac, if I set it to bypass the proxy, attachments are hosed. If I
setup Netscape 4.72 the same way I can receive all attachments fine, (Excel,
Word, picts. etc.)
Any thoughts on this? I am trying not to have to move my Mac users to NN,
but this is better than no attachments, or worse, moving back to 6.06.
Thanks for listening.
Regards,
-Don
