Actually,
I need a service that is outside MY setup to be able to make sure
that my systems are up and running and connected to the outside
world in general. Doesn't do anygood to be able to send me an
email when my connection is down.
Anyone know of a reasonably priced solution or service?

We've used and relied IPSentry for about two years. Although we
have
bought site licenses for it and some of the add-ons, the primary
monitoring is handled by two servers, each running basically
identical
configurations, and generating modem-based pages, email-based
pages,
emails, and restarting services etc. Reliable monitoring with
redundancy.
Good value and effective I reckon.
