I've got a front end .ASP that does this based on
the client's IP address. We point the client to the http page, and if
coming from outside, it redirects them to https:

users from untrusted networks to use SSL so that their passwords would not be
unencrypted?
I want users on
trusted internal networks to have regular http access to the web-basede mail
becuase of the speed improvement.
