Thats MS Windows 2000 w/Active Directory and Dynamic Registration of IP
addresses. If your DNS server supports it, and is enabled, you'll return
records in DNS for every IP setup on every server where its selected to
'Dynamically register this connection's IP address in Active Directory'
without any manual input otherwise. It did it to my servers, but so far it
has not caused any addressing or problems that have interferred with our
site, or the sites we host. However, every configuration is different...and
it could be causing conflicts with the specific hostname the other servers
are looking for. Our Mail Servers are not the PDC's nor are they acting as
our DNS servers. I could see where all on the same machine it 'could'
potentially cause addressing issues.
