As an ISP, we do 'store and forward' type mail
deliveries for a few of our customers (some of which use exchange).
This is normally used as a backup spool in the
event that the company's mail server becomes unreachable.
Search Ipswitch's Knowledgebase for help with
ETRN. I've not seen an exchange screen in ages (thankfully) but I believe
you can setup exchange to initiate an ETRN spool search at regular
intervals. Doing it this way allows imail to operate as a MX backup or
primary SMTP server. The nicest part is that you do not run ANYTHING
(web.mail/pop3/imap) for the exchange domain users. No forwards to set, no
aliases to change, no users to maintain.
Hope it helps,
John
