That's no anomaly--it's the RFC. From RFC 2821:

> The maximum total length of a text line including the <CRLF> is 1000
> characters   (not   counting   the   leading   dot   duplicated  for
> transparency).  This  number  may  be  increased  by the use of SMTP
> Service Extensions.

So...Imail  is  under  no  obligation  to receive longer line lengths,
though  the  RFCs  do  suggest  elsewhere  that longer line lengths be
allowed "for robustness."

What's  happening  is that Yahoo is pushing its output over the limit,
and  other  MTAs  are  cooperating.  It's easy to do that when writing
HTML, since one starts to think that <CRLF> is not interpreted.
