GeoList is a program that connects to the mailserver of selected domains
and simulates message sends to millions of alphabetically listed email
address in an attempt to harvest valid addresses. This "harvesting" usually
takes a few hours and can easily overburden a low-end mailserver. These
addresses are then used by the GeoList user or sold to others as spam
targets. The address I sent was a source of a GeoList "harvesting attack"
that hit my server, and was sent in case anybody wanted to take pre-emptive
measures to protect themselves.
On another note, I sent that message on the 27th, and it hit this list
that day. I have no idea why it showed up again.
