I started a dialogue with a couple of kind souls here last week - I lost my
email service for a few days (not imail) and am just getting back on track -
I probably missed some responses, so tia for bearing with me while I repeat
myself <smile>.
Our server name is mccnt40srv. Our registered domain name is
mdchildcare.org. I have entered the domain name as
mccnt40srv.mdchildcare.org in the imail setup. I have not entered info in
the DNS tab of NT - should I? and if so in what form? I created a virtual
host called mdchildcare.org.
I am installing imail on our nt 4.0 server. So far I (sort of) can send and
receive mail via the imail client but not in outlook express 4.x. Replies
do not work in either client.
Usually to set up an account in Outlook Express you name the smtp and pop
servers in the account properties. What does one enter there for imail? I
tried putting the ip number in there and oe did not choke on it but on the
other hand it didnt pick up the mail either. I tried putting the name
"mdchildcare.org" in and oe did choke on it.
So far this setup is all internal - we are getting an always on connection
to our isp in the next few weeks but right now this just on our LAN.
So - any help on setup? All suggestions and advice gratefully
appreciated......
