I seem to have found a bug somewhere in Netscape Communicator/Messenger
or Imail. If I try to perform operationso on nested IMail folders,
Netscape and Imail get confused about what each is doing. While I can
create multiple nested folders on the IMAP server, I can't ever perform
any operations which moves more than one folder (ie. any folder with
sub-folders) or Netscape/Imail will become confused (restarting Netscape
resets it to IMail's view of the mail folders).
An example is moving a folder with sub-folders, or deleting a folder
with sub-folders (which moves the folders and sub-folders to trash).
Example structure:
level1
sub-folder level2
sub-folder level3
If I move level2 (containing level3) it will get confused. Moving level3
to a temporary area, then moving level2, then moving level3 back to
level2, works fine.
Has anyone else seen this and has anyone found a solution (other than
warning users not to try it).
Can anyone recommend another IMAP client to test this with?
Any comments would be appreciated.
