We run Cold Fusion as well and I'd be interested in checking it out. At the
moment I am running a demo of an ASP POP3 Component(ActiveX DLL) and it
connects right into IMail....I just need to finish building my App and I'll
have a 100% custom IMail App ready to use! (Custom minus the DLL)

I am aware of that. Humm oh well. Here is a question then? How many people
would be interested in a free cold fusion driven email interface for Imail.
All aspects can be changed. Var.'s will now be inside cold fusion and it
will sit over top the Imail web interface which can be ran on a non standard
port. There are some drawbacks to this as in the real web interface can not
be used, BUT it will allow all the same stuff and you can change the entire
look of the system. If i get more than 10 people who say yes then i will
release on the allaire site this product. Only thing is that it only works
with cold fusion. I worked on 2 site's templates and found that the web
email interface to just not be very good looking. Its drove me nuts and a
while back i saw a bunch of people in here who wanted to help each other out
with free site templates. I was wanting to contribute to this but now it
seems allot of people are wanting money for it. I understand that some
people may have made the layouts to sell, i have no problem with that at
all. But 50$ is allot more of a good price for the few files that there are
in there and its mostly a template issue. Not that you have to totally
re-design the entire page each time you do it. In this i was not meaning to
degrade, take a shot at anyone or anyone else. I think Kevin's pages are
very very well done. He did a good job, I even went there before i wrote my
email, but the 100$ price tag was a bit to take on considering the fact that
you can get a page designed dirt cheap anymore. Who knows. You all are
pretty pissed i can see and i understand. Also the 5$ was not ment to be a
5$ was ment to be a 50$. Sometimes its allot better in the end to work with
people and help each other out than it is to fight and try to out do each
other. As you may have noticed i did respond to that after i had noticed the
mistake saying sorry. Was truly not ment to offend them. Here is how the
system is currently working...
Imail Web system is running on port 1234
Cold fusion gets a page request from a user. Cold fusion hits the imail
server and logs the user in. It also gets the user# and variable from url
UserSessionId = Xafa99fcf999ac89c9e98645da7ac
PageUserId = 46728
All other vars are also put into the server. This in turn lets you put what
ever you want on any page. Also i have added a check that will bring up what
has access to. Page wise..
Aka
Addressbook holds true/false true they have access to that option, False
they do not.
It still has alot of bugs in it and requires that you run a special template
that i created for this, Other wise it will not function.
Also it has taken me a few weeks to develop this but i was doing it for
another site anyway and im getting paid to do the site, not to design a
email interface so i feel ive been paid in one way or another and if it
makes someone else's life easier then im happy, cause not all web developers
and isp's have cash to toss out a window.
