had a customer call up, and he uses the webmail exclusively, he says that since friday, whatever messages are marked as read are being deleted from the mailbox and they are not staying on the server. for example, if he had 20 messages and he read them all and deleted all but 5, those messages should stay on the server unless he deletes them himself. but the next day, the mailbox is empty except for the unread messages that have come in since the last session. What might explain this? He says he doesn't use a mail client so the messages aren't being cleared that way....I also suggested maybe his account was compromised somehow and someone else is dl'ing them, but that is a remote possibility IMO...but we changed the PW anyways, just to be safe...
