I once went through the season of doubt whilst trying to get that PERL list
thing to work (Will this d$$$ thing ever work?), but have now come out to
see the light.
In IIS4 you have to set up an application link to the perl.exe or the
perlis.dll.
Example for Perl.exe: (as I can not remember how to do the IS right now and
can not get to my servers from here)
What you do is go in to the management panel (after Perl is installed) right
click the directory where you want to allow the PERL script to run.
Then when the "<directory name> properties" panel comes up click the
"Configuration" button.
Then click "add" and in the executable window put full path to perl.exe
followed by " %s %s" (without the quotes and spaces count).
Make the extension box read ".pl" (without the quotes), and I recommend that
you exclude "PUT,DELETE" (without the quotes) check the two cute boxes and
OK your way out of town.
Now this directories ICON will appear as an application in the MMC. Test
your script in that directory and let me know what you find. That seems to
be the stumbling block that most I have talked to on this list have run into
(also tripped me up for a bit). I have some other tips, but that is likely
what is ailing your Perl.
