This is one of those problems that really scare you:
We have IMail 4.07 running on NT Server 4 w/ SP4. All was fine until this
weekend, when the volume storing the email ran out of disk space (another
long story). Apparently, once the disk space was gone, IMail truncated the
message stores, because now all our clients (at least, those accessing their
email) have lost all their email. We've solved the disk space problem, but
is there some way to recover the lost messages? We have tape backup, but
that's not realtime, so it's not going to include, for example, messages
arriving in the wee hours of this morning.
If IMail just kills the message files when disk space runs out, that strikes
me as a pretty disasterous bug.
Help!
