I probably didn't make that very clear - let me try again.
I have 2 domains say, abc.com and abc.org.
But [EMAIL PROTECTED] also wants to be able to receive mail as [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I set up mail.abc.com and aliased it as abc.com.
Then I aliased mail.abc.org and abc.org to mail.abc.com.
My DNS entries point abc.com, abc.org to the same IP address.
I could send mail from any of the addresses.
But if I sent mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and tried to retrieve it by loggin on to
the pop3 as user1, password then that log on was rejected.
I also tried setting up a vritual host with no ip for the .org which seemed
to work for smtp but I could never retrieve from pop3.
Also I could send mail using the user1@ipaddress but I could not retrieve
messages for user1@ipaddress.
I am a little green at this so thanks for your consideration.

I'm not sure if you can do the alias thing... but you can definitely do the
multiple hostnames to one IP address... it is all setup in your DNS.
